The Khanenko Museum's programs include different kind of events. They are created and improved according to audience desires, innovations in museums studies, culture, pedagogy, psychology etc.

The museum offers a wide variety of guided tours and programs: with either flexible or pre-planned script, more intimate or more formal events, with different focus topics.

The museum's audience is comprised of people of different aesthetic preferences, cultural points of interest and needs.

Museum experts are open for discussions on educational projects and thematic events, for cooperation and partnership.

Children’s courses consist of sets of joyous and educational activities, during which children explore art history. Alongside educational part, they discover something new about themselves and their creative abilities. We adjust the topics of classes according to the interests of the group. The number of interesting highlights, quests,interactive games, creative exercises from our museum specialists is inexhaustible. After each program all participants receive certificates to confirm knowledge attained during the program and vivid impressions that encourage further museum visiting.

Please note: Number of places in groups is limited. If payment is not received beforehand, your child cannot access the program. Please inform our museum administrators in case of booking cancellation.

Museum ABC

The purpose of the program is to arouse a keen interest in art. This is possible through a close acquaintance with the art of Europe and Asia presented in the museum. Children become familiar with different historical periods, amusing stories and museum secrets.

The topics of our lessons are connected with all the halls of the museum, the most valuable and interesting works of art. Friendly discussion and fun games right in the museum halls give a vivid impression of each topic.

At the end of each class creative practice is provided. Classes are taught by two experienced museum professionals: the head of the class and the assistant.

Museum world

The participants of the course will find out:

- what it was like to live in Khanenko's family home

- how to differ woodcut from etching and tempera paintings from oil ones

- what witty ideas gave rise to sculpture masterpieces of different eras

- what important messages does ornaments hide

And other things.

During themed lessons, kids are involved not only in art subject but also in the cross-cultural knowledge and skills. They rediscover museum as a meeting point of marvelous objects, fascinating stories, vivid historical personalities and characters of themselves. Thus, children learn to distinguish what is important, to think independently, and to express their own impressions.

MuKHa Art Studio

With the help of best specimens of the museum collection and experienced museum specialists, children are creating their own art forms that are filled with contemporary life meaning. They explore original ideas of painters, sculptors and graphic artists of the past, dig into different types of materials, techniques, and art methods. Great part of each lesson is devoted to hands-on workshops. Participants try diverse art methods: mosaics, stained glass, painting on fabric, monotyping, lettering, painting with ink and other.

Art Sundays

The program's aim is to interest teenagers in the arts by engaging them in thematic games, different in content and format. At each session participants will consider one of the important issues of art directly through examples of museum pieces. Children deal with creative and intellectual tasks thought the competition or collaboration in teams.

Communication and games inspire all the participants to think, describe, argue their own ideas and experiences while learning about the history of traditions and art styles.

Litweek

Litweek is a creative writing and literature course for teens who:

- love to read and write works of different genres

- are searching for new ideas for creativity

- are seeking to get acquainted with the museum and want to find out the secrets of over 20 exhibits

- eager to make new friends and learn how to paint with words

The program is heavily based on creative writing exercises: generating written pieces (essays, dialogues, descriptions, poetry, etc.), discussing different genres, artistic techniques, performing useful exercises not only make the museum closer, but also help to understand oneself interests better.

Museumkhane

The word “khane” means “workshop” in Persian. Museumkhane is a museum workshop for kids and young adults with learning and communication difficulties, their friends and family members. Children and young people with Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and Down syndrome are invited to join in.

Each workshop has its own theme that participants explore in the museum rooms and an art studio. The program offers a multi-sensory experience of interacting with art and people in the unique friendly atmosphere of the Khanenko Museum.

The author and host of the program is Hanna Rudyck, the museum’s deputy director. The workshop was created in close collaboration with the ergotherapist Olena Kosheleva (NPO “Family of Success”).

Workshops take place at 14:00 on the last Sunday of every month.
