Поляку Вільгельмові Котарбінському судилося прожити в Києві чимало років. Це місто принесло йому справжню славу, але згодом ім’я художника загубилося серед більш відомих «соборян» і «припало пилом» у недосліджених особняках кінця XIX століття. Останнім часом історики та мистецтвознавці відкривають цю завісу непам’яті, вивчаючи документи, живописні та графічні твори митця і повертаючи його спадщину в культурний контекст епохи 1. Однією з таких розвідок є пропонована стаття, присвячена декоративним композиціям митця в інтер’єрі Національного музею мистецтв імені Богдана та Варвари Ханенків — колишнього особняка подружжя.

The Khanenko Museum's curator Hanna Rudyk and researcher Antonina Makarevich, in collaboration with the MWNF team, have finalized preparatory work and launched a presentation of the KhM Islamic art collection within the "Discover Islamic Art", "Explore Islamic Art Collections" and "Discover Carpet Art" projects of the Museum With No Frontiers. MWNF has now brought together more than 50 museums from 27 countries. The focal point of the project was the concept of king’s charisma in the art of medieval and early modern Iran. Being fundamental to the ancient Iranian culture the idea of charisma as a gift of the highest mystical power and happy destiny of a ruler has retained its significance in the Muslim era of Iranian history. About 70 selected works of old Persian masters invite to feel the vibrant energy of the Iranian idea g charisma through the truly infinite richness of its semantic and visual appeals. In the course of preparation of the exhibition its curator Hanna Rudyk undertook additional attributional studies of the objects. Conservators of the National Research Restoration Centre of Ukraine conducted special restoration and conservation works.
